The Pretoria Bach Choir (PBC) is a highly regarded amateur mixed adult choir. The PBC welcomes everyone. The commitment of our music leadership to encourage the participation of all who love the chorale genre is fitting testament to this and we have been pleased to welcome members from a wide spectrum of our community to participate in our performances.”
The PBC will perform two of Mozart’s most stirring masterworks — the radiant Krönungsmesse (Coronation Mass) and the timeless Requiem. These beloved pieces will come alive on Sunday, 22 June 2026 at the ZK Mattews Hall, UNISA, joined by a full ensemble and organ, under the inspired direction of Edwin Mitas.
To enrich the sound of the PBC and deepen the musical experience of the choir members and the audience, the PBC will open its doors to seasoned singers who would like to be part of the next performance.
The PBC holds approximately 20 rehearsals ahead of each concert. Rehearsals takes place Mondays from 19:00 to 21:30 at Pretoria East Primary School, 209 Roper Street, Brooklyn. New singers wishing to join the PBC have to complete an audition prior to each concert. Compulsory membership fees are applicable.
By stepping into a project, you become part of a respected amateur adult choir with a diverse voice palette, performing some of the best baroque choral works written whilst sharing the stage with accomplished performing artists.
